Which format?
- Code 128 — letters, digits and symbols. The default for shipping labels, asset tags and internal codes.
- EAN-13 / EAN-8 — retail products worldwide. 12 digits (a 13th check digit is added) or 7 digits for EAN-8.
- UPC-A — retail in the US and Canada. 11 digits plus a check digit.
- Code 39 — older industrial and ID use. Uppercase letters and digits.
- ITF-14 — the code on a shipping carton or case. 13 digits plus a check digit.
Printing
Download the SVG for anything that goes to print — it stays razor sharp at any size. Keep the quiet space (the empty margin) on both sides, and do not stretch it. A bar width of 2–3 px prints and scans reliably at label sizes.
